Why Hydrate?

Did you know that our bodies are between 65-70% water, and some tissues (such as our brain) can be up to 90% water? Research has shown that 99% of all molecules in your muscles is water.  Amazingly, one cell may contain more that 2 billion water molecules.  Water is essential for healthy cell function. We depend on water to transport oxygen and nutrients to our cells as well as clean out the buildup of carbon dioxide and other waste products we accumulate every day.

The human body is extremely energy efficient, monitoring and mending thousands of functions and processes on a daily basis to support healthy life. Just like daily demands on our time, there is only a limited supply of energy to go around. When the demand for this energy exceeds the supply, our bodies are often unable to fight the buildup of toxins.

When are the best times to drink water?

                       1. One glass 1/2 hour before breakfast and lunch.
                       2. One glass 2 1/2 hours after each meal
                       3. Two more glasses should be taken around the heaviest meal.

( We recommend you substitute VIVO® at one or more of these times to maximize hydration)

What is the best temperature to drink water to maximize hydration?

There are conflicting studies on the best temperature to drink water to maximize hydration.  The best reason for this is that it depends on the individual and the situation.  For instance, an active person in a hot climate may hydrate more effectively with colder water as it cools the core temperature, and therefore slows the sweating process and allows for more complete hydration.

We recommend that you listen to your body and your personal "tastes".

Did You Know...?

Your body is nearly 2/3 water. Your brain is 85%, your blood 82% and your lungs are nearly 90% water

Even moderate dehydration can cause headaches and dizziness

The sensation of thirst tells us that we are already moderately dehydrated.  It is key to continually replenish!

Water is essential in delivering nutrients and oxygen to cells, removing waste, cushioning joints, protecting your body's organs and tissues, and maintaining an ideal body temperature
